Janko De Beer is a visual artist based in Cape Town. De Beer has only recently turned his full attention to art and was a practicing advocate for 12 years before he shifted his career in 2017.
His art draws conceptually from his use of medium and he is inspired by natural found objects such as bark, rocks, and kelp. He usually incorporates the natural elements which inspired him into his artworks. His themes vary according to his body of work however he has explored the juxtaposition of perspective and identity alongside the notion of myths and legends. He also focuses on the allegorical meaning of African masks.
Over the years De Beer has exhibited in multiple group exhibitions and was present at Turbine Art Fair (2018). He has also sold work on an international base in countries such as Dubai, Monaco, and Belgium.
