Bulawayo, Zimbabwean born artist Greatjoy Ndlovu is currently based in Johannesburg creating work form August House Studios. Ndlovu's dripping technique has to led to him being dupped as a contemporary post-expressionist.
His work predominately addresses the notion and act of movement and expression which the human form conveys.
"When you see my art for the first time, the first impression that you get is freedom. Its free, there is lots of movement and there are emotions. Freedom is a catalyst to what I desire every day when I walk around the city." He explains.
Ndlovu's work was exhibited at the 2016 Turbine Art Fair as well as at the Henry George Gallery in Parkhurst. More recently, Greatjoy has showcased his work through group exhibitions such as the RMB August House exhibition.
He has also published a biography entitled "The Path to Greatjoy" written by Ntsikelelo Mzinbomvu which was launched during a solo exhibition at Muzi Mavuso Art House (2018).
